Dr. Anna Battigelli Studies the Great Thinkers of the 17th-Century
With her award winning book, "Margaret Cavendish and the Exiles of the Mind ," Dr. Battigelli became the first biographer to explore in-depth this mid-17th-century English writer's intellectual life. She dismisses the myth of Cavendish as an isolated and lonely thinker, arguing instead that the role of exile was a rhetorical stance, one that allowed Cavendish to address and even criticize kings, queens and the leading thinkers of her day. Professor Don Osborn Thinks Size Does Matter
Dr. Osborne is drawn to steel and welds sheets around angle-iron frames to create large building sculptures exhibited nationally and on campus as part of the Plattsburgh State Art Museum Sculpture Park, which he helped create to feature works by many of his students - past and present - and nationally acclaimed visiting artists.
