Education Program - N.C.A.T.E. Accreditation
About N.C.A.T.E. (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) National Accreditation
The New York State Board of Regents mandated that as of 2004, all teacher education programs in NYS must be accredited. Plattsburgh State University of New York has selected the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education - N.C.A.T.E.
The N.C.A.T.E. accreditation process requires a comprehensive application process, curriculum and program review, and assessment of such quality indicators as candidates’ characteristics, admissions requirements, adequacy of facilities and budget, professional preparation of faculty, and other criteria relevant to meet rigorous state and national standards.
